Desert Serenade

Desert Serenade doesn't smell like anything you'd expect a candle to smell like — and that's precisely the point. Aloe and agave open with a clean, faintly watery greenness, the kind of unexpected freshness that high-desert air sometimes has. Chrysanthemum and green florals give the heart an unusual, slightly mineral-floral quality. Patchouli grounds the base with warm earth, preventing the whole thing from floating off into abstraction. Distinctive and quietly strange. For anyone who finds most candles too obvious.

Hand-poured in Sarasota, Florida in small batches. Wax blend: soy-coconut. Wick: cotton-core. Net weight: 8 oz. Estimated burn time: 45–55 hours. Vessel: reusable glass tumbler — clean with warm soapy water once the candle is spent. Free of paraffin, phthalates, and parabens. Every batch is made in small quantities, which means minor variation between pours is part of the craft.

Trim the wick to ¼ inch before every burn. On the first burn, allow the wax to reach a full melt pool — typically 2 to 3 hours — to prevent tunneling. Keep away from drafts, pets, and children. Never burn unattended. Discontinue use when ¼ inch of wax remains.
